PERU BIRDING TOUR – NEBLINA FOREST ITINEARY

Day 1 Arrival at Lima city and check in at "Los Embajadores" Hotel, Miraflores.

Day 2 Early flight to Cusco which is the Capital of the Inca´s Empire. We will go straight to Wayquecha Biology Station, located in the amazing Manu road above 3800 mts. Full Day of birding and traveling. Box Lunch on the way. Overnight in WBS. BL, D.

Day 3 Early birding on the Manu Road at Pillahuata area (aprox. 3500 mts.) and more birding heading down to the Cock of the Rock Lodge. Box Lunch on the way. Overnight at CORL. B, BL, D

Day 4 Early Birding up the Manu Road to the Rocotal Area. (aprox. 2000 mts.). Spectacular birding. Box Lunch on the way. B,BL,D

Day 5 Full Birding day at CORL. (1500 mts). B,L,D

Day 6 Early birding down the Road heading to the very famous "Amazonia" Lodge located at aprox. 600 mts. Box Lunch included. Overnight in Amazonia Lodge. B, BL, D.

Day 7 Full Birding day in the surroundings of Amazonia Lodge the land of the Festive Coquette and other endemics. B, L, D.

Day 8 full birding day at Amazonia Lodge. We will explore the trails around the lodge. B, L, D.

Day 9 Full birding day at Amazonia Lodge. We will explore the trails around the lodge. B, L, D.

Day 10 Last morning of birding at Amazonia Lodge. We will go on a 6 – 7 hours boat ride down the mighty Madre de Dios River on a comfortable motorized canoe to what it is probably the best birding destination in the whole Peruvian amazon, the amazing Manu Wildlife Center located on a private reserve at aprox. 250 mts . Fantastic views and birding along the way from the boat and in the garden of MWC. B, BL, D.

Day 11 Full Birding day at MWC. The Spectacular Macaw clay lick in the morning and surroundings trails at MWC in the afternoon. B, L, D

Day 12 Very early In the morning, we will visit one of the two most spectaculars oxbow lakes in the area: "Camungo". Amazing birding around and from the fantastic canopy platform that is in the area. We will also have the possibility to encounter the family of Giant River Otters that lives in the lake. We could pack a box lunch if that is the case. B, L, D.

Day 13 Another early morning for more birding activity. This time we will go to the other oxbow called "Blanco", where we will have again another chance of more new birds and for these spectaculars giant otters. After lunch we will head to one of the biggest patches of bamboo forest in the area to try to get what we called the" bamboo specialties". B, L, D

Day 14 Full Birding Day on the trails at Manu Wildlife Center. We can try one more time the birds in the bamboo forest or we can always get dipper into the jungle and explorer the "terra firme" forest for more specialists' birds and get to what is known now as the biggest and the most accessible Tapir clay lick in the world. B, L, D.

Day 15 We leave MWC early in the morning on a three hour boat ride down river to this mining town called Colorado, where we will catch a local but private vehicle to the amazon city of Puerto Maldonado, the capital of Madre de Dios Region. Box lunch on the way. Overnight in Puerto Maldonado city. B, BL.

Day 16 Last birding morning around Puerto Maldonado while we are waiting for our one hour return flight to Lima.
